Importance of good digestive health in keeping away piles

Hemorrhoids are the swollen and inflamed blood vessels inside and outside the anus which leads to a lot of discomforts, like itching around the anal region, pain while sitting, bleeding during defecation and soreness after passing stool.

It is most common in the middle and old aged people but now is also seen occurring in children and youth because of a weak digestive system.

Ayurveda terms piles as arsha or the enemy which is caused by the imbalance in tri energies known as Vata, Pitta, and Kapha, controlling which can control piles.

There are various causes of piles such as pregnancy, obesity, excessive physical strain like heavy weight lifting, and constipation.

Constipation is seen to be a major reason for piles as the hard stool leads to, irritation of the blood vessels and strain while passing stool and thus piles. Therefore, to get relief from piles one needs to keep the digestive system healthy. Following are the ways to keep the digestive system active and healthy

Fluid intake:

A good amount of fluid every day can keep the intestines moving and so the bowels. 8- 10 glasses of water is always recommended for a good digestive health. Fluids can also be consumed in the form of fruits and vegetable juices.

High fiber diet:

A fiber-rich diet helps in keeping the food moving through the digestive tract and keeps constipation away. It also helps in maintaining a healthy weight. Fiber-rich foods include oats, barley, raw vegetables, fruits, beans, and lentils.

Probiotics:

Probiotic contains healthy bacteria which help in keeping the body healthy by fighting the effects of poor diet, stress, and antibiotics. It also enhances the nutrient absorption and strengthening the immune system.

Schedule the eating habit:

Consuming meals on time can keep the digestive system healthy.

Exercise regularly:

Exercise helps in keeping the food moving in the intestine and also reduces constipation. Physical activity also helps in maintaining a healthy weight and fighting obesity. The routine can include anything from yoga, swimming to walks or light gym exercises.

Limit high fatty food:

Fats tend to slow down the digestive system and increase the chances of constipation and piles.

Simple diet factor if taken care of can help in keeping the digestive system and our self in top shape, and also in keeping the piles away.
