5 Ayurvedic Remedies for Diabetes in Your Kitchen

Diabetes is not the easiest disease to control, but there are some home remedies that can help keep it in check. Below are some simple Ayurvedic tips using ingredients you’d normally find in your kitchen. Follow these simple remedies to control this problem.

Karela (Bitter Gourd) Juice:

Karela helps lower your blood sugar level and reduces diabetes-related health complications when consumed early in the morning on an empty stomach. You can either use Jiva Karela Juice or you can make it yourself. Simply peel and de-seed a not too ripe bitter gourd, soak in water with a pinch of salt for 10 minutes, and blend it. Add a little turmeric and lime juice. Stir well before drinking.

Methi (Fenugreek Seeds):

Soak fenugreek seeds, also known as methi seeds, overnight and have a spoonful the next morning with a glass of water. You can also sprout the seeds by soaking them overnight, draining, and covering with a cloth until green shoots appear and then add them in any kind of salad.

Amla:

The Indian Gooseberry or amla contains chromium that regulates carbohydrate metabolism, thus making your body more receptive to insulin. Take two teaspoons of Amla juice with a pinch of turmeric early in the morning. You can buy some healthy and organic Amla juice here.

Jamun Seeds:

Jamun is believed to be of special use in the treatment of diabetes. Consuming a few jamuns a day keeps diabetes away. The Jamun fruit and its leaves are proven to lower the blood sugar level significantly.

Vijaysar Churna:

The Vijaysar tree is famous for its numerous medicinal uses. The bark of Vijaysar is especially known to have benefits for those suffering from Diabetes. You can either consume the powdered form of the bark (Vijaysar Churna), or you can soak a cube of the bark in water overnight and drink it the following morning on empty stomach.
