Wrinkles are a clear sign of ageing and being past your prime. While there are some who view wrinkles as a sign of maturity and wisdom, for most, wrinkles are lines that they want to get rid of anyhow.
The main causes of wrinkles are excess exposure to sunlight, lack of sleep, and genetics. When you approach an Ayurvedic doctor for a consultation, they will also go down to the root cause of the wrinkles, which could be related to your doshas (vata, pitta, kapha), dhatus (tissues), shrotas (channels) or agni (digestive fire).
1.Your first step should be to take some lemon peel and rub it on the affected areas. The astringent properties of the lemon will cleanse and open up your pores. Once the pores are opened, massage your skin with an oil of your choice followed by steam treatment for added penetration.
2.Now that your pores are open and ready, try one of these face masks.
Combine haldi (turmeric) and ganna (sugarcane) juice to make a lep (mask). Sugarcane helps cleanse the rakhta dhatu (blood) and haldi reverses the signs of ageing.
Mash apple and pineapple together till you achieve a spreadable consistency. Apple increases ojas (immunity) which gives you a look of vitality and pineapple is rich in collagen. Apply to your face for 10-15 minutes and wash off with a mild cleanser.
Even honey by itself makes for a good lep as it helps to tighten the skin. Apply to the skin before going in for a bath. Wash off with lukewarm water.
