Herbal Face Masks - Ayurveda?s Answer to Common Skin Problems

We all aspire to have beautiful, glowing skin that turns heads and invites compliments. But, living in the conditions that we do, harsh weather, dust, and pollution can rob us of our beauty and leave us with skin that looks greasy, dull or blotched.

Take a look at these easy-to-make face masks that don’t just pamper your skin, but also nourish and moisture from within!

Oatmeal and apple mask for oily skin:

Mix one tablespoon of oatmeal along with pureed apples and milk. Apply the mask evenly on your face and skin. Leave it on for 15 min and then scrub for another minute or so. Wash it off with lukewarm water. While the oatmeal in the mask gently exfoliates your skin, apple and milk work as an astringent and get rid of excess oil, making it soft and supple.

Pineapple mask to slough away dead skin cells:

The coarse texture and the potent enzymes of pineapple is perfect to exfoliate dead skin cells, while the citric acid in the fruit brightens dark spots and lightens the complexion. So blend a slice of pineapple along with the juice of an orange and lemon and add two tablespoons of atta. Apply the paste evenly on your face and wash it off with lukewarm water to reveal smooth, glowing skin.

Strawberry face mask for open pores:

Strawberries works miraculously on dull, oily skin. When mixed with rose water and mint, it acts as a pore minimizing toner that hydrates your skin and gets rid of excess oil or ama buildup on your skin. Whip up this berrylicious mask by mixing mashed strawberries, 1 teaspoon of crushed mint, rose water, a pinch of camphor, and 2 teaspoons of oatmeal if you are in the mood for some exfoliation. Wash it off after 20 mins and say hello to oil-free skin and bye-bye to open pores!
