Keep Forgetting Things? After Reading This You May Not!

Do you often forget important dates, phone numbers and simple things like where you placed your keys? Stress, lack of sleep, effect of some medicines can weaken your Medhya and make you forget things easily. Here are three simple Ayurvedic tips for sharp memory and good retention power.

Memory enhancing herbs

Brahmi, Amla, Ashwagandha, Jatamansi, Mandukaparni, Yastimadhu, Gudduci and Sankhpushpi are great herbs that improve brain functions, strengthens memory and intellect and supports focus and concentration. These herbs are known as Medhya Rasayana. Jiva Memorica Syrup is an excellent brain tonic and enhances memory, assimilation and intelligence.

Foods for the brain

Walnuts, wholegrains, leafy green vegetables, beets, carrots, almonds, pumpkin seeds and coconut oil have positive effects on the functions of the brain. Include more of these foods as salads or you can make a healthy snack of almonds and pumpkin seeds.

Yoga for Brain

Practicing Yoga regularly strengthens the nervous system and promotes good blood flow to the brain. Janu Sirsasana, Sarvangasana, Matsyasana and Kapalabhati yoga poses are beneficial for the Manas (mind) and very helpful in improving memory.

Bonus Tips

Massaging the head and feet regularly does help in improving brain functions and memory. Do Ayurvedic champi for 5 minutes before bathing with Jiva Bhringraj Oil. This will relax and strengthen brain nerves and give you healthy hair too. At night, before going to bed, practise Padabhayanga. Massage the soles of your feet with ghee. This will relax your nerves, help you sleep better and relax your mind which will reinforce your memory and intelligence.
