Here are some tips to balance the apana vayu
-
Don’t force or avoid urination and bowel movements. Allow them to happen naturally when the urge hits.
 -
To balance vata, eat a diet focusing on the sweet, sour, and salty rasas (tastes).
 -
Avoid activities that include sudden movements, like jumping and lifting heavy objects during pregnancy. Opt for yoga for a good workout that promotes a calm state of mind and balances the apana vayu.

Here are some yoga asanas that help maintain Vata
Baddha Konasana (bound angle pose)

Start with legs outstretched.
 -
Fold them at the knees and bring the soles of the soles together.

Holding your feet with both hands, gently move your knees up and down.
 -
Repeat 20-30 times.

Marjariasana (cat pose)
-
Start on all fours, palms shoulder-width apart and knees width-length apart.
 -
Inhaling, raise your head and gently arch your back towards the floor.
 -
Exhaling, bring your chin to our chest and gently arch the spine upwards.
 -
Repeat 5-10 times
