Yoga nidra for healthy mind and body

Yoga and Ayurveda are two sides of the same coin. Yoga compliments the healing power of Ayurveda, and Ayurveda helps Yoga become more beneficial.

The lifestyle and routine mentioned by the ancient sages has been successful in keeping humans healthy. Not following that leads to diseases and hence sadness. Unfortunately in the rush to achieve more, people have been violating these simple health guidelines and that is the reason why we see a lot of lifestyle disorders today.

In our series of yoga asanas, today we will talk about the Yoga Nidra process which brings freshness and energy so that you can start enjoying your life better.

Process:

  • Lie flat on the ground in place that is silent and free of distractions

  • Gently close your eyes and completely relax your body

  • Now imagine every part of your body starting from the left arm and moving to the other body parts.

  • Think about your eyes, cheeks, lips, chin, neck, chest, stomach, thighs, knee, shin and feet. Once you have reached the end, come back up again in the reverse order.

  • In your mind, feel all the fingers of your palm moving from one to the next. Then think about the other parts of your body gradually moving upward in your mind.

  • Feel the minute movements in your body. Feel the blood moving in your veins, feel your breathe travel from your nose to your lungs and out again. Feel your heart beats and feel one with the supreme power.

  • Imagine you are seeing a bright light in your mind and while concentrating on it, lay still on the ground for a while.

  • Take long breathes and repeat the process all over again.

Benefits of Yoga Nidra:

  • Relieves tiredness and relaxes your body completely

  • Allows you to de-stress and sleep well

  • Helps in managing blood pressure

  • Helpful in relieving pain in the waist, back and neck

  • Alleviates anxiety

Special Precautions:
