9 Practical and Easy Remedies to Get Rid of Undereye Bags

Baggy eyes are mostly caused due to the natural ageing process and are characterized by swelling and puffiness under the lower eyelids. It appears such due to the accumulation of fluids in the blood vessel present around the eyes. These simple home remedies have been found to be extremely beneficial in under-eye bags:

  • Drink adequate amount of water and keep your body hydrated to avoid eye bags.

  • Eat fresh fruits and vegetables. In addition to nutrition, fruits and veggies also provide vitamins like A, C and E, which are beneficial in getting rid of baggy eyes. Cucumbers, tomatoes, watermelons, apples, grapes, and other watery fruits and vegetables are especially beneficial for getting rid of baggy eyes.

  • Restrict the consumption of excessive salt in your diet and stay away from strong caffeinated, carbonated, and alcoholic beverages.

  • Get a minimum of eight hours of daily sleep to give your eyes the rest they need.

  • Keep your head elevated while sleeping by using one or two pillows beneath the head in order to avoid bagginess due to fluid retention. This is one of the best natural home remedies for baggy eyes.

  • Use fresh cucumber or potato slices to cover the eyes. This helps in reducing the bags under eyes and dark circles if used regularly.

  • Place frozen tea bags on closed eyes for 10-15 minutes. This will help reduce the swelling and the baggy eyes.

  • Reduce the consumption of processed and packaged foods that contain various types of preservatives and additives to avoid bags resulting from fluid retention.

  • Regularly splash cold water to improve blood circulation and reduce the eye bags.

Lifestyle factors like stress, lack of proper sleep, vitamin deficiency, and excess salt consumption can also contribute to forming bags under the eyes.
