Ayurvedic Treatments For Loss Of Libido

It’s not uncommon for people to experience loss of libido as they age. Among men, it can happen when they’re around the age of 60. Women experience it when they’re hitting menopause. However, a medical or mental condition can lead to loss of libido as well prematurely.

According to Ayurveda, excess of vata dosha can cause your libido to dip, and there are various reasons why that can happen. From stress and anxiety to serious medical problems, there can be any number of factors affecting your libido, which in turn can take a toll on a couple’s relationship.

But with Ayurveda on your side, you have no cause for worry at all. Here are some treatments that can help with loss of libido.

Vajikarana

Vajikarana herbs have been used for the treatment of erectile dysfunction, premature ejaculation, low libido, and male infertility for centuries. The treatment combines a unique herbal formula with changes in diet and workout. In addition to this, your doctor will also recommend special relaxation techniques, diets and lifestyle regimens that will rejuvenate the sexual organs and revitalize Shukra Dhatu in your body.

Shirodhara

Loss of libido can happen because of stress and depression and Shirodhara is one of the oldest treatments described in Ayurveda for this condition. In this therapy, warm oil is poured in a persistent stream over the 'ajna marma', or the forehead - an area where the nerves are extremely concentrated. The oil’s pressure creates a vibration on the forehead, which permeates into the nervous system, giving relief from nervousness and depression, and boosting sexual performance.

As you can see, Ayurveda does hold the answer to a lot of problems. But, self help and home remedies can only take you so far. If you’ve been suffering from poor sexual appetite and nothing seems to work, it’s important to get in touch with a Jiva doctor. Poor libido could be a symptom of an underlying medical problem, and seeking help in time could help nip it in the bud, while allowing you to enjoy physical intimacy with your partner.
