Can?t sleep? These Ayurvedic herbs will help you

In a world like ours, where busy schedules and over-packed lifestyles dominate our time, we tend to overlook the finer things in life, such as sleep! And then, we get to a stage where we find it really difficult to sleep, no matter how hard we try. And in no time, we’re suffering from sleep disorders such as insomnia. Now, unless you don’t mind counting sheep from dusk till dawn, we’ve got few Ayurvedic remedies that might help.

Brahmi

Brahmi, also known as ‘the brain tonic’, improves memory, treats anxiety, and works as a natural sedative. Drinking a cup of brahmi tea before bed will calm the mind, relieve tension, and lull you to sleep. Regular consumption of the herb can even cure insomnia.

Ashwagandha

Ashwagandha has been used in Ayurveda for years to relieve stress, boost energy and fight fatigue. It also enhances coordination between mind and senses which, according to Ayurveda, helps treat sleeplessness. Take half a teaspoon of ashwagandha powder mixed with milk at night.

Jatamansi

Jatamansi acts as a natural sedative, antidepressant, and tranquilizer for anxiety or stress. Therefore, it is an effective remedy for people who are suffering from stress-induced insomnia. Either consume it in powder form or soak it in warm water for 4-5 hours and drink it at bedtime.

Since there is no alternative to a good night’s sleep yet, we recommend that you catch up on those precious hours to recharge your mind and body. Use these natural ayurvedic remedies to treat your insomnia and get the rest your mind and body need.

Sweet Dreams!
