Controlling Diabetes through Yoga and Meditation

Breathing exercises for Diabetes:

Vrikshasana – Tree Pose – Balances the secretions of the pancreas

Stand straight with your feet close together and the hands by the sides. Lift your right foot and place it on the left thigh just above the knee. The right toe should point downwards. Balance your body on the left leg. Join the palms at the chest level and raise them above your head slowly. Maintain this position for about 10 seconds before switching over to the other leg.

Dhanurasana – Bow Pose – Improves the digestive functions

Lie flat on your stomach with your feet at the hip-width apart. Fold your knees backwards and try to hold your ankles with your hands. You need to lift your chest off the ground and pull your legs up. Look straight ahead and hold on to this taut position for about 10 to 15 seconds. Gently bring your legs back to the ground. Relax for some time before starting the whole process again. This exercise is one of the best ones to control sugar diabetes.
