How to get rid of ringworm ?

Ringworm is one of the most common skin problems that occurs primarily in the summers and for monsoon when moisture in the air is relatively higher than in colder seasons.. It is a very common skin infection that is caused by fungus Android manifest itself as circular rashes on the skin which are red and itchy. the fungus can spread from one person to another by direct touch or by using common household items such as towel are clothes. Closing the area with bandages are with other covers is not recommended because increase in moisture in the area prevents the healing process, and increases the problem even more. Instead, here are a few easy ayurvedic ringworm home treatments to get rid of it easily.

  • Garlic paste:  Onion and garlic  is high in sulphur content, which is beneficial in treating the microbial / fungal infection that is at the base of ringworm. To get benefit from the natural sulphur in these spices, make a  smooth paste on a clean surface and apply on the affected area. Remember not to cover the area because excess moisture increases the problem. You can replace the paste once every 3 to 4 hours, or even apply it once a day for 2 hours and then wash it away.
  • Turmeric has been extensively used in Ayurveda for its antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory benefits. turmeric has as extensive benefits for the skin, and has been used for topical applications  for  over 5  Millennium. applying turmeric on the skin is also very easy, you can either use fresh root of turmeric, or make a thick paste using one teaspoon of good quality turmeric powder with a little coconut oil, or clean water, whatever you choose. Now  apply it on the affected area and leave it on for 15 to 20 minutes before washing it away with normal room temperature water. 
  • Mulethi powder paste:  mulethi or liquorice is another Ayurvedic herb which has been extensively used by ayurvedic doctors for treating skin problems, especially  ringworm. Besides turmeric and garlic, this is considered one of the best medicines for ringworm. Take 3 teaspoons of liquorice powder, and mix it well  into a consistent paste using water. Now applied on the affected area, and make sure to leave it on for at least 2 to 3 hours. You can also leave it on for shorter periods of time for example for 15 to 20 minutes, but in that case you will have to apply it repeatedly at different times of the day. You can do that before going to the office or school and after coming back from work or school in the evening. You can also do it before going to bed at night. 
  • Aloe vera and coconut oil mixture:  both of these ingredients that is aloe vera and coconut oil have many proven benefits for skin  and hair health. Popularly recommended by Ayurveda doctors for treatment of hair and skin problems, aloe vera and coconut oil mixture is also useful for treating ringworm. Ringworm treatment done in Ayurveda is more often than not complemented by several home remedies, this mixture is one of the most common ones that doctors recommend. Therefore, you can use this home remedy for ringworm for relief in the itching and redness in the affected area. For best results, fresh aloe vera is recommended, however if you do not get fresh aloe vera, packaged paste is also applicable. take one teaspoon of the paste, and mix it well with your finger in one teaspoon of pure coconut oil and then apply on the affected area. This dries off easily and does not stain your clothes, so you can apply and go to work without   worrying about any stains or marks on your cloth.
