Ever thought that you could have a burger that satisfies your cravings and is good for your health? May seem hard to believe, but we’ve got just the recipe for you.

Highlights

  • Balance your doshas and maintain a sattvic diet with this Ayurvedic burger.

  • With ingredients like carrots, black beans, cardamom, cinnamon, etc. this is the healthiest burger in the world.

Who doesn’t love a good, hearty burger? But, the unhealthy fried patty and overloaded cheese can be a turn off for most. But, this Ayurvedic burger is as healthy as it gets. Here are some of the benefits of the ingredients that go into making this burger

  • Carrots balance both the vata and kapha.

  • Black beans help control high BP, reduces the risk of heart disease, helps in weight loss, etc.

  • Rice is sattvic in nature and balances all three doshas.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup carrot (grated and steamed)

  • 1 cup kaala chana (black beans), boiled and mashed

  • 1 cup boiled rice

  • ¼ cup almonds (soaked overnight and then ground into a powdery paste)

  • ¼ tsp salt

  • ¼ tsp kaali mirch (pepper)

  • 1/8 tsp dalchini (cinnamon)

  • ¼ tsp ground jeera (cumin)

  • Ghee as needed

Method

  • Blend all the ingredients in a blender till they form a thick mixture. Ensure that you don’t blend it to the point where it starts becoming thin and runny, as it should resemble a dough.

  • Shape the mixture into patties.

  • Put the ghee in a frying pan and roast the patties for around 15 minutes. (approx 7 minutes on each side)

  • Serve them on a bun, a pita pocket, or between a couple lettuce leaves, and enjoy!
