Carrots balance both the vata and kapha.
Rice is sattvic in nature and balances all three doshas.
1 cup carrot (grated and steamed)
1 cup kaala chana (black beans), boiled and mashed
1 cup boiled rice
¼ cup almonds (soaked overnight and then ground into a powdery paste)
¼ tsp salt
¼ tsp kaali mirch (pepper)
1/8 tsp dalchini (cinnamon)
¼ tsp ground jeera (cumin)
Ghee as needed
Blend all the ingredients in a blender till they form a thick mixture. Ensure that you don’t blend it to the point where it starts becoming thin and runny, as it should resemble a dough.
Shape the mixture into patties.
Put the ghee in a frying pan and roast the patties for around 15 minutes. (approx 7 minutes on each side)
Serve them on a bun, a pita pocket, or between a couple lettuce leaves, and enjoy!
